5 ideas you can use this week
Value realization is a new start
When customers reach their outcomes they reprioritize, and their needs change. CSMs reassess those needs so you keep up and do not lose the customer.
Existing customers cost less
Winning a new customer takes brand awareness, product introductions and sales commissions. Existing customers already know you and what you offer.
Onboarding is not adoption
Onboarding gives customers the knowledge, access and support to begin. Adoption is the longer process of building the solution into everyday work and progressing to the value they expect.
Upsell vs cross-sell
Upselling expands the use of an existing solution; cross-selling introduces a different one. CSMs identify and validate the fit, while pricing, negotiation and closing may sit with Sales or Account Management.
Trust first, genuine need always
Set clear expectations of your role and build rapport, then ask what the customer needs, what changed once they reached their outcomes and how you can support them better.
